My 12 Days of Thriftmas - Day 11, How to Make a Bag From an Old Pair of Jeans!
With the cost of single use carrier bags going up - and carrying around a Bag For Life is now a given - maybe it’s time to think about making your own..? Don’t worry, I’ve got just the thing for all you sew-shy novices, this bag from a t-shirt doesn’t even need sewing! If you're more than happy to hit the sewing machine, grab an old pair of jeans and get going... here's the video on how to do both!
Now that's done, you can finish it off by using your own bag as a template, or getting inspiration from the shops or online. And THAT means you’re ready to hit those charity shops… or
to give the gift of a lifetime reusable bag to someone..! Wildly thrifty
beyond your Thriftmassy dreams!
I'm going to make three different
versions, then write a follow up post about those in the New Year - but, while
you’re here, why not check out the nautical bag I made from a hat
- and let me know what you think! There's a nifty way to make 'rope' handles
from an old t-shirt in that post, which is just one way of making this denim
bag different... That 'hat bag' was one of the challenges I tackled as a
contestant in Refashion Runway, which is
making a comeback in 2020 - I've got some exciting news to come on that front!
In the meantime, I'll see you back here
for something a little bit different, in the very last of my 12 Days of
Thriftmas... coming soon!
A big warm hug,
Gema x
